3 best campsites for kids in the UK

Camping – you either love it or hate it!   And our family love it!   It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, let the kids roam around in nature, and holiday with friends.  And once you’ve got the kit, it’s cheap too.  We’ve explored quite a lot of campsites in the UK now, here are my top 3 that are both beautiful and great for entertaining the kids.

3)WoWo in Sussex

This one makes the top 3 for the huge fire pits! See the Wowo website.

Camping

  • The campsite has 5 interconnected fields separated by strips of woods and streams, which are great for the kids to explore.
  • Rope swings adorn the trees and the rivers are made for paddling.
  • Every pitch has it’s own open fire pits with benches, and logs are available from the log truck or camp shop.

Facilities

  • A variety of food vans visit daily if you don’t want to cook, and a small shop offers essentials and snacks.
  • The campers barn has chilling sofas, fridges and freezers to cool freezer blocks, and a laundry room.
  • Hot showers and lots of small toilet blocks scattered around.
  • Dog friendly
  • Glamping options are also available – check out their yurts, bell tents, shepherds huts and geodomes.

Nearby attractions

  • We visited a fantastic wild swimming spot at Barcombe Mills, recommended on wildopenwater.com
  • Bluebell railway is a proper old fashioned steam train, only 5 minutes walk from the campsite – see more.
