Rickmondsworth Aquadrome with Children

Playground

The recently refurbished playground is slightly hidden away.  If you walk around the first lake (on the right when leaving cafe) then about halfway round there is a large bridge on the left of the path, leading to the playground.  It has a zip wire, large climbing frames and a good variety of smaller entertainment.

Nature

Lake

The three lakes are all well used by waterbirds and there are bird hides at the further lakes.  There are hard paths round each lake suitable for buggies and some feeding platforms where the ducks can be fed in safety.   Avoid feeding at the waterside ramps with little ones unless they like being surrounded by swans!  They request not to feed bread to the ducks, and bird seed can be bought in the cafe.

Eating

Cafe

The cafe in the Park is a lovely cafe with healthy and tasty vegetarian food.  The main disadvantage is that it can get very busy.   There is plenty of outdoor seating at the back with a mud kitchen to amuse the little ones while you wait.  Also for adult only groups check out the quiet room for a bit of time out!   See their menus here.

Picnics

There are plenty of picnic tables in the dog free field opposite the cafe, and the open field to the right of the cafe.

Toilets

Toilets are available inside and next to the cafe.  There are some additional ones available in the sailing club half way round the lake near the playground, but they may not always be open.

Other Trivia

Watersport

There are several water sports clubs around the lake, for canoeing and water skiing, which is great fun to watch in the summer!

Canal

You can pop through to the canal towpath  for an alternative walk, with lots of narrowboats and further along some locks.
