So do you want to know how much camera kit a professional family photographer needs? Well there is a fine line between the kit I need and the kit I want, which could easily become a really big list!
I must admit to having collected a lot of very random camera kit during 30 years of experimenting with photography. I have underwater cameras, cave cameras, film cameras, very small cameras, very big cameras, and a brand new toy, a drone camera!
For my professional camera kit I need a good balance between the best kit for artistic photography and the ability to be agile and quick to capture real moments with lively families. When out on a shoot I just take the essentials, and here is what usually makes it into my family photography camera kit bag.
