Baby Plan – photograph all baby’s first year

Growing up photos of twins

My baby plan is all about capturing the stages in the first year as baby changes.  Life with a newborn is a fantastic journey of discovery, from meeting them for the very first time to those first smiles, first steps and first independence.   Booking a set of 3 or 4 sessions has several advantages

  • I will contact you to remind you to book your session a month or so before the times decided – ensuring that you remember to fit this into your busy schedule with baby and that I have time in my schedule for you.
  • You get a discount over the usual price of separately booked sessions.
  • You get a set of matching images to remember your baby’s first year

So what stages do I photograph?

  • Newborn

The very best time for newborn photographs is between 6 and 14 days old,  when baby is still tiny and relatively sleepy.  At this session I will capture portraits of your newborn clothed or unclothed, close up of details and portraits of the whole family with their new addition at this special time.

Newborn babies

  • Three months / expressions

The first 3 months produce the greatest changes, from a newborn who couldn’t even focus on your face a 3 month old baby  is watching everything and exploring the movement of their hands and feet.  Smiles and giggles and funny expressions are likely at this age.

  • Six months / moving

Beginning to get the hang of their bodies at this age babies may be lifting their heads and looking around, perhaps sitting and some even crawling.

  • One year / standing

At one year your baby is growing up!  Every baby is different but common milestones are standing, cruising or even walking, and they are certainly going to love interacting with parents.  We can also include special birthday shots such as a cake smash to celebrate this time.

Every baby is different so you can choose to fine tune these sessions to capture your little one’s milestones – your sessions can be used spread over up to 15 months.
My clients either book the whole set up front or can choose an add on once they have seen the lovely pictures from their newborn session.  Get in touch for more details or to book your newborn session, or look at more sessions on the blog.

Those early days pass quickly. New parents with new experiences, holding a baby who seems to change almost daily. It is a stage that feels so long but is over so soon! All of my baby photo sessions take place at home. Being in your own space allows everything to slow down, with no need to travel, no unfamiliar surroundings, and plenty of time to settle, feed, and pause when needed. It creates images that feel real and rooted in your family life.I am a natural family photographer based in Ruislip, West London, photographing families in a relaxed, unhurried way that focuses on connection rather than perfection. If you are in this season and would like it documented quietly, you are very welcome to comment or message me to talk about booking your family shoot.

It feels like the right moment to start looking for snowdrops. Have you seen any yet this winter? Comment and let me know where please!Places I usually look are the winter gardens and woodland paths at Clivenden and Waddesdon Manor national trust gardens. The historic Stowe Gardens have long been celebrated with #stowedrops on Instagram as drifts appear through Elysian Fields and Lamport Garden. Closer to home in Surrey and south London, RHS Garden Wisley and Kew Gardens both shelter early snowdrop displays around their woodland areas and rock gardens. These walks and gardens are the kind of places that naturally invite exploration and fun family time Just what I look for in outdoor sessions when I am photographing families in spring light.I am a natural family photographer based in Ruislip, West London, creating relaxed family photography in local and nearby green spaces that reflect everyday connection and curiosity. If you would like to plan a family shoot as the seasons shift, please comment or message me to talk about booking your session.

This is what spring often looks like during my family photoshoots. Children climbing, balancing, testing their independence, with space to move rather than being asked to stand still. Even if we have to wrap up in the biggest puffer jackets, outdoor fun is still available in my winter woodland photo sessions. This is what I look for during my sessions - the in between moments that tell the real story of your family. The way a child settles into a parent’s arms, the calm confidence of being held, the connection that needs no direction.A father holding his child close, wrapped up in warmth, trust, and familiarity. No posing, no pressure, just the comfort of being exactly where you belong. As a natural family photographer based in Ruislip, West London, I photograph families outdoors in a relaxed way, allowing space for genuine connection rather than perfect smiles. If this feels like the kind of family photography you would love for your own memories, you are very welcome to comment below or send me a message to chat about booking your shoot.

It is never just a cat. Mito’s story is woven into this image, held close, safe, and clearly part of the family. I'm packing away the Christmas decorations today, I keep thinking about moments like this. A newborn held close, gentle lights in the background, the calm of a first Christmas at home. These early days are often a blur, especially around the festive season. That is what I aim to preserve through natural, unhurried family photography. As a natural family photographer based in Ruislip, West London, I photograph newborns and families in a calm, gentle way, creating images that feel true to this season of life.If you are expecting or have recently welcomed a baby and would like these early moments captured, you are very welcome to comment or send me a message to talk about booking your shoot.
