Gerbil portraits – Nibbles and Gordon

Nibbles is a wild coloured male Mongolian gerbil. He enjoys exploring and climbing over his human and the whole room.
Mongolian Gerbils are found in the wild in asia and were first bred in captivity in the 1930’s. They were introduced to the pet trade and became popular in the 1970’s. Selective breeding has produced several other colours of gerbil in addition to this brown colouration found in the wild.
