Pumpkin picking at The Fruit Fields, Iver. Head to the pumpkin fields to choose your own pumpkins, enjoy photo opportunities and explore the maize maze. Open on selected dates throughout October, including weekends and the final week of the month. Find out more @thefruitfields
Free Halloween trail at Black Park. Get the children dressed up and head into the woods to hunt for spooky characters hidden along the trail. Running from 24 October to 1 November 2026, this is a free, bookable family activity. Find out more

Pumpkin Trail at Manor Farm House, Ruislip. Explore a free Halloween trail on Saturday 31 October, 10am to 4pm, featuring pumpkins decorated to reflect different periods of local history. Find out more on the council website.
Spooky Halloween Market at Ruislip Duck Pond. Visit the Duck Pond Market on Saturday 31 October, from 4pm to 9pm, for an evening of spooky seasonal fun. @duckpondmarket
A new café at Denham Country Park. If you`re planning a family walk, keep an eye out for the new café at Denham Country Park. Lakeside Café & Soft Play offers refreshments for grown-ups and indoor play for under-fives. Find out more @lakeside.softplay.cafe
One of my routines this time of year is to look forwards to the coming Autumn colours and choose a date that I think will showcase them for my autumn family photo mini sessions. Due to some rain at last, the fields and lawns are currently going from scorched brown back to green. But all too soon we will complain about cold instead of heat the leaves will turn brown again, this time with yellow and orange too!
So here it is - Mini sessions are going to be in Ruislip woods on 17th October.

Mini sessions are a special offer that happen only a few times a year, featuring a stunning location which is the best of the season.
This year`s autumn mini sessions will be at a woodland location near Ruislip, where the autumn leaves are turning into gold and orange. This is a great season for children to run in the woods and play in the autumn leaves.

Most parents have hundreds of photographs of their children.
But when they scroll back, they are often missing from the story.
You were there for the cuddles, the walks, the chaos and the ordinary days that somehow became important.

It was just the weather for an outdoor cake smash celebration for this first birthday.
Birthday cakes aren`t just for at home - we can combine an outdoor photo session with a cake picnic.
I still can`t quite believe how beautiful this year`s lavender mini sessions were.The sunshine was hot, the colours were bright!
Mini sessions have a way of capturing so much in such a short time. Twenty minutes is all it takes when children are free to play, parents stop worrying about perfection, and everyone is simply together.

I`m already planning my next outdoor mini sessions for autumn, when the leaves turn gold, the light becomes beautifully soft, and the woods are full of colour. It`s one of my favourite seasons for family photography, especially for children who love to explore and climb.

A sunrise beach walk, although if I`m honest, sunset is far more likely.
Swimming somewhere I`ve never swum before.
Spending more time watching wildlife and seeing what turns up when I slow down.
Discovering a few new places that might one day become beautiful locations for family photo sessions.

A fantastic night for the end of term celebrations of @littlevoiceshh. Everyone was dressed to impress and had their hollywood portraits taken in action.
