I’m going to share with you all the information you need to explore Denham Park with children. In this series of blogs I will share my favourite parks and wild outdoor spaces that can be visited from the Hillingdon area.
Denham Park has some lovely wild places in it’s nature reserve and a new children’s play ground. A lovely quiet park to discover. It’s part of the Colne Valley Regional Park, and the Colne Valley Park Visitor Centre is located there.

Playground
The playground was built just a couple of years ago, and it is pretty large with a big sandpit for the little ones and climbing frames for the bigger ones.
Nature
River – river dipping
The shallow river in front of the visitors centre has been landscaped with a pebbled beach to give better access for paddling and river dipping. The visitors centre often sells nets and runs courses on river dipping.
Meadows
Crossing over the road and walking towards the canal takes you through flowers (and slightly marshy) wildlife meadows. Walking route leaflets are available at the visitors centre.
Eating
Cafe
The cafe does a good line in toasties and sandwiches, and has a nice indoor and outdoor shaded seating area.
Toilets
Toilets can be found next to the cafe.
