Baby Plan – photograph all baby’s first year

Growing up photos of twins

My baby plan is all about capturing the stages in the first year as baby changes.  Life with a newborn is a fantastic journey of discovery, from meeting them for the very first time to those first smiles, first steps and first independence.   Booking a set of 3 or 4 sessions has several advantages

  • I will contact you to remind you to book your session a month or so before the times decided – ensuring that you remember to fit this into your busy schedule with baby and that I have time in my schedule for you.
  • You get a discount over the usual price of separately booked sessions.
  • You get a set of matching images to remember your baby’s first year

4 portraits growing up

So what stages do I photograph?

  • Newborn

The very best time for newborn photographs is between 6 and 14 days old,  when baby is still tiny and relatively sleepy.  At this session I will capture portraits of your newborn clothed or unclothed, close up of details and portraits of the whole family with their new addition at this special time.

Newborn babies

  • Three months / expressions

The first 3 months produce the greatest changes, from a newborn who couldn’t even focus on your face a 3 month old baby  is watching everything and exploring the movement of their hands and feet.  Smiles and giggles and funny expressions are likely at this age.

  • Six months / moving

Beginning to get the hang of their bodies at this age babies may be lifting their heads and looking around, perhaps sitting and some even crawling.

  • One year / standing

At one year your baby is growing up!  Every baby is different but common milestones are standing, cruising or even walking, and they are certainly going to love interacting with parents.  We can also include special birthday shots such as a cake smash to celebrate this time.

one year old babies

Every baby is different so you can choose to fine tune these sessions to capture your little one’s milestones – your sessions can be used spread over up to 15 months.
My clients either book the whole set up front or can choose an add on once they have seen the lovely pictures from their newborn session.  Get in touch for more details or to book your newborn session, or look at more sessions on the blog.

And finally - my very favourite campsite for family adventures! Hollands Wood – Camping in the Heart of the New Forest

If you’re after a real forest camping experience, Hollands Wood is the perfect spot. Tucked among the trees in the New Forest, this campsite feels like a proper outdoor adventure, while still being close to plenty of attractions.

CAMPSITE
Set right in the forest—just pick a spot under the trees for some shade (or shelter from the rain!).
Charcoal BBQs are allowed (as long as they’re off the ground), but no wood fires.
Surrounded by woodland and walking trails—perfect for exploring.
Wild ponies wander through regularly! Super cute, but keep your food secured.

FACILITIES
A small office selling ice lollies and renting out freezer blocks.
Three toilet blocks with showers.
Dog-friendly, so your pup is welcome!

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
A wide shallow river with pebbly beach just 5 minutes walk away—perfect for paddling.
Brockenhurst town is a 20-minute walk (or 5 minutes by car) with supermarkets, ice cream shops, and tourist spots.
Ornamental Drive—a beautiful scenic route through the forest.
Reptile Centre—see native reptiles up close.
Wildlife & children’s farm—great for kids!
If you love forest vibes, ponies, and easy access to nature, this is the place to be!

My second favorite campsite for family camping?

Hill End in Gower, South Wales!

This place is a gem—four big fields tucked between the sand dunes and rolling hills of the Gower Peninsula. But the real highlight? The location. Just a five-minute walk through the dunes, and you’re on one of the best surfing beaches in Wales!

CAMPSITE
Four connected fields, including a ‘quiet’ field just for families
Wood fires are allowed (as long as they’re off the ground)
Sand dunes to explore, a little stream for kids to fish in, and of course—the beach!

FACILITIES
A café and bar for easy eats and drinks
A small shop with essentials—basic groceries, cold beers, freezer block hire, and beach gear
One big toilet block with hot showers (plus outdoor showers for rinsing off wetsuits)
A football area and a huge children’s playground
No dogs allowed (so keep that in mind!)

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
The beach is right there—just a short walk through the dunes
More beaches within walking distance
Surf schools often run lessons right on the beach

It’s the perfect spot for a laid-back, beachy family camping trip!

Camping – you either love it or hate it! It is the ultimate long stay outdoor adventure. And our family love it! Are you a camping fan, and have you managed to get the family involved?

I'd like to share with you my top 3 of the best campsites for kids, so they get the camping bug too!

Camping is a great way to make the accommodation part of the adventures, see new places, let the kids roam around in nature, and holiday with friends. And once you’ve got the kit, it’s cheap too.

Number 3 is.. WoWo in Sussex

This one makes the top 3 best campsites for kids because of the huge fire pits, and the potential for exploring!

CAMPING
The campsite has 5 interconnected fields separated by strips of woods and streams, which are great for the kids to explore.
Rope swings adorn the trees and the rivers are made for paddling.
Every pitch has its own open fire pits with benches, and logs are available from the log truck or camp shop.

FACILITIES
A variety of food vans visit daily if you don’t want to cook, and a small shop offers essentials and snacks.
The campers barn has chilling sofas, fridges and freezers to cool freezer blocks, and a laundry room.
Hot showers and lots of small toilet blocks scattered around.
Dog friendly
Glamping options are also available – check out their yurts, bell tents, shepherds huts and geodomes.

(you can find the campsite weblink on my blog post)
