In this project I’m capturing portraits to show the human – pet connection, that celebrate pets as the true stars of the show.
For centuries, humans have kept pets for many reasons – assistance, joy, fun, love. But the why is not always logical.
My household is currently ruled by a herd of guinea pigs. Big fat balls of fluff that know just how to manipulate me into giving them yet another food treat, and never seem to remember that I already fed them several times today!
Whether it’s a loyal dog, a curious cat, a small bird, or even denizens of the jungle, our pets become part of our families. But what do they think of us in return?
In this portrait series, I’m exploring the relationship from the pets’ point of view, capturing the quiet moments that highlight the deep, often unspoken, bond between humans and their animal companions. These relaxed, intimate photos focus on the affection and trust that develop over time, showing pets as family members with unique personalities and feelings.
Each portrait aims to tell the story of this special relationship—one that is built on love, and the simple joy of being together.
