What shall I wear for an outdoor adventure photoshoot?

The question my clients ask most – What shall we wear for our outdoor photoshoot?

I have to admit, fashion is not one of my interests! I choose my clothes for comfort, nice colours and sometimes silly logos, in that order. So when someone asks me what they should wear for their photoshoot, I feel a sense of panic!

However I realised what I can tell you from my photographic experience is what NOT to wear in photos! There are some things that just don’t translate well to photos and can make your photo shoot more tricky.

So wear what you love, your style is part of who you are and what we want to capture. But watch my tips on what clothes to avoid to make your photo session flow smoothly. Look like yourself, only better!

Don’ts

  • Don’t wear anything that you really don’t want to get muddy
  • Avoid big logos and writting
  • No big hats or sunglasses (watch out for UV reactive glasses too)
  • Don’t make one person stand out – coordinating is good

Dos

  • Choose a colour to tie your outfits together – coordinated doesn’t need to match
  • Be ready for action – kids may need to climb trees
  • Wear shoes you can walk in – we’ll be going for a stroll

* feel free to ignore any of these suggestions that contradict your style 🙂
